Emergency & Exit Light Testing & Servicing
Commercial buildings, apartment residences, government locations, and public indoor spaces are legally required to have emergency and exit lights in specific areas. At Delavale Electrical Contracting, we install, test, and service emergency lighting for businesses throughout Perth.
Exit signs and emergency lights are extremely important safety features. They’re specifically placed to light the way out of a building in the event of an emergency. Australian Standards 2293.2 state that routine testing and servicing of emergency lighting should be completed every 6 months.
The testing process involves simulating a power outage to monitor the lights, ensuring they remain lit for a period of 90 minutes. The results of the test are then logged in a paper or digital logbook. This is for insurance purposes to show you’ve completed your duty of care.
Any emergency lighting or exit signs found to be defective, or in need of new batteries, will be serviced and repaired by us. It’s important to note these checks and repairs should only be done by licensed, professional electricians.
